Support for Windows XP & Office 2003 will be ending on April 8, 2014. It's been around since 2002, so it's time to upgrade. You can visit the website below for more information, and to find out what it means for you if you are running Windows XP.

"If you continue to use Windows XP after support ends, your computer will still work but it might become more vulnerable to security risks and viruses. Also, as more software and hardware manufacturers continue to optimize for more recent versions of Windows, you can expect to encounter greater numbers of apps and devices that do not work with Windows XP."

In most cases, it is actually cheaper (and better in the long-run) to purchase a new computer than to upgrade just your operating system. It's better, as the newest operating system (Windows 8.1) will likely not be compatible with the old hardware in your tower. By purchasing a new computer with Windows 8.1, you will be guaranteed at least another 10 years before Microsoft discontinues support. You can find some very helpful information, including a getting started with Windows 8 brochure by searching our Support Desk.
